Sounds like you are busy busy busy! The genealogy stuff is really taking off!

Your labels from Jennifer and Vicky are great. I haven't made labels for all of my quilts either, but I think we really should - especially those we make for other people. There may come a day when we are gone that some genealogist is trying to track family and quilt labels could hold the key to the puzzle.

I got my goodies from Vicky, too. Yay!

Thank goodness you finally have your goodies. Holy beans, what drama I felt over that! I was so worried about that package so, of course, I had to send some extras. ♥

I saw an amazing display talking about how quilt labels are for the people who inherit our quilts. I found it really moving and have tried really had to label everything I make since then.

It is so very cool that you overcame your hurdles with the family story and connected all the dots. I've tried to explain the proof of connection to some of my family. There's a lot of "the grandparents said it, so it must be true." Pffft.

So glad you got my package, I knew you would like the villain fabric , I also love a good villain and am certain they are all just misunderstood he he .

Your genealogy stuff is so interesting, I would love to tackle my own but both parents and grandparents on dads side have passed. There is no family or paperwork left so I wouldn't know where to start, and mums side are also gone or have altzimers and are called smith which is the most common surname in the U.K.

The Hamilton presentation sound like it could be lots of fun.

As a geneaologist, who knows better that we aren't here forever but the things we leave behind are clues for those the come after us. I wish the quilts we found in my mom and aunt's things when we cleared out the house had been labeled. We can only guess now at who made them and when, sadly. So start labeling those quilts lady!

Finding out things for sure to be true is so interesting. The DNA tests proved that the stories we were told about being a small amount of native american were completely false and unfounded. We are ALL european, based on two separate dna tests. nice try grandpa.
