That looks like it's going to be a fun quilt!

The magnetic pin bowls are cute, but SO pricy. This seems like a great option instead!

Kristel, I got my magnetic pin bowl at a discount hardware store. Harbor Freight. I don't know if you have them in Calgary, but if not, definitely check your hardware sections in your cheaper stores if you have any. I think it was like 3 bucks. I often get stuff to copy what's being sold at a "quilt" store at Harbor Freight. Even rotary blades... which they sell for cutting carpet. They have those magnetic strips for the wall or a cabinet door or something. They call them "magenetic tool holder" but they are often used by people for other things, like knives in the kitchen and scissors in the sewing room. Editing to add I googled it and people were suggesting something called "house of tools" and "princess auto", if your town has one of those.

We do have a Princess Auto nearby, which I went to with a friend a while ago. (He told me that his wife was relying on me to stop him buying a carload of crap because that's usually what happens when he goes there.) I didn't see a lot of stuff that would be useful in quilting, but wasn't really looking for it either. I did see a serial killer's paradise, though, straps, harnesses, rope, rolls of plastic sheeting, assorted knives and cross-bows and duct tape and....... I must have been watching some murderous tv shows around then because that's all that really stood out to me :D Anyway, I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever back there again.

Definitely explore it with a crafty state of mind next time. You might be suprised what they've got that would work well in the sewing room.

You're super sweet to get extra fabric for everyone.

I love my magnetic pincushions. They are especially awesome when you drop pins. Just sayin'. ;)

Rainey you get so much done all the time. I love all your pinwheels and stars, very cute fabrics!

I love my magnetic pin cushion that I inherited from my aunt. I also bought a much less pretty and not coated with plastic one at harbor freight that I have a bunch of safety pins in. It's just plain metal but I keep it stuck to my wire shelving above my sewing table because the magnet is that strong. Only a couple of bucks there.
