Late again!

I am once again running late and have no video.  I forgot to video or even take pictures of the Christmas gifts I made before I gave them away - dopp bags for Pat and Vanessa, sweatshirts for Pat and Vanessa - in addition to the cosmetics bags that I posted in a previous video for Vanessa and her mom.

I am currently working on a project that I'll post later.  I've also embroidered some kitchen towels for Vanessa's birthday (which is today but we'll celebrate in a few days).

Right now it is snowing here; started an hour or so ago.  They are predicting somewhere between 1 and 8+  inches, depending on where you are in the state.  Looks like our area will not get hit as hard as others.

So far my new year is off to a great start!  Those of you who are Facebook friends know this already, so forgive the repetition.  I went to my oncologist yesterday for my quarterly follow-up check up.  Since everything looked good and I have been cancer free for 2 years, I don't have to go back for 6 months!!!!  WOO HOO!!!!

Well, almost everything looked great - my weight is way too high.  She has referred me to a doctor (barriatrics) down the hall from her for a weight loss program.  If my insurance will pay for it, I'll go.  If not, I'll have to figure out something else. Sigh . . .

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!  I'll be watching your videos!

Extra weight is nothing compared to the great news of being cancer free. That is so amazing!

This year I gained back all the weight I lost the previous year, but as of this Tuesday I am back to tracking my steps and calories with fitbit. Be kind to yourself and just take it one day at a time. :)

To tell the truth I'm not nearly as worried about my weight as she is. I would like to take the 20 lbs off that I've gained over the past 2 years, but the way I look at it, I'l still 30 less than I was pre-cancer.

Sounds like you are doing well, then. I tend to not go by what all the "experts" say I weigh anyway. I know where I feel comfortable, and right now I'm above that so I'm working my way back to where I felt good. It's still technically "overweight", but if I feel good and can do the things I want to do I'm happy. :)

Yaaaay for being bumped down from quarterly checkups to every six months! That's a big milestone! I remember how good that felt...just wait till you can go to annual checkups, that's even better. :)

We got about 3" of snow, so not too bad, it's just crazy cold. But then it's supposed to be up near 60 later on in the week. Go figure!
