So glad you got your baby back. It's so sad when they are sick!

I think you did a great job on the bag, but I know fusible fleece does help a bag stand up, so it's nice to use that too.

I feel you on the tree. We haven't put ours up either. Phebe wanted to, but I told her she had to vacuum the living room, and so far that hasn't happened, so no tree! Meanwhile I think I'm going to be buying this pattern and making this 6 foot tree to hang on the wall. A lady in my Project Linus group made one and brought it in, she added buttons here and there so she could hand real ornaments on it. I really like how hers turned out. This one my cat could not climb! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017JGEGWK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3IMBSQ9B62G7S&coliid=I2OMKM6U01ZZJH

I love to listen to audiobooks when I sew. :)

Yay for having your embroidery machine back! Did they say what was wrong?

Oh, I have a bunch of vinyl samples and now I want to try embroidering on some! Great idea!! Can I ask how you did the initials with the nifty border? I have some conversion software, but it's not particularly awesome for text. I have used the fonts in the machine and those stitch out really nicely, but I haven't figured out the border thing.

Hmm, maybe you can vacuum the dusty embroidery? Not sure what else you'd do if it's glued in!

I have Embrillience Essentials and used that to combine the frame and letters. To tell the truth, I can't remember where I got those letters or the frame.

The thread guide was broken and shredding the thread. They replaced it (under $10 for the part). Total bill was $138. Tim's Xmas present for me was getting my machine fixed.

I'm so glad it was something fixable! Merry Christmas to you, then!

I've heard of people putting something sheer like part of an old pair of hose or the like on the end of the vacuum hose with a rubber band (I guess so it won't pull so hard or take off embellishments) and vacuum it all over. Basically what Jennifer said, then. :D

The bag looked great! Sounds like some members of your family are going to get some nice presents!

Some of my family getting homemade gifts is right. I just ran out of time to be able to do something for everyone.
