Wow, lots of info!! I am very excited about all the things! I will order the magazine as soon as it is ready. Can't wait to see your block. Can we pre-order tomorrow?

Love all the plans for next year. I hope to participate in at least 3 of them: Paper Piece Vintage, Fantastic Beasts 2, and the UFO event.

As for swaps, I think a Misc. swap would be nice. Instead of each person making enough of an item for each swapper, what about if each person could make one completed project to swap. Then the coordinator could put all the names in a hat and pull two names and those 2 would swap with each other; then choose the next 2 names, etc. If there is an odd number of people to join, I'd be glad to swap with the odd woman out. That way the sewers/quilters could make a postcard, pouch, small quilt (wall hanging), mug rug, etc.; knitters/crocheters could make a hat, purse, little animal, etc., cross-stitchers could make a little picture, or whatever. I think that way everybody could participate and each person may get a goodie that would really represent the person in the swap.

I double checked and they actually went on sale yesterday, so the magazines are in my shop, ready to go! Woo!

Next year is going to be amazing! I'm trying to do things a little differently so as not to get overwhelmed and so far, so good!

I do like your swap idea! I'm making a note... ;)

Suzy's idea is nice. There's a Facebook scrap sewing group (Heather Valentine's) that swaps things like pincushions, mini quilts, etc. Another postcard swap might be nice, though that can get a bit much if there's a lot of people involved. Might use the same pattern/dimensions for everyone so all get the same size item, and do a swap with things like mug rugs, drawstring bags, tote bags...

Whew, you've got a busy 2017 lined up! Ready, set...GO!

I do like the idea of small swaps. Some of my favorites in the past have been for dishcloths, potholders, etc. I do like functional stuff!

Pebbles do take for.ev.er but they're such a great texture! They're also thread-eaters, too.

I have a tv tray hanging around in my sewing room waiting to get the same treatment :D Yours turned out great!

Lots of announcements for sure - I'm going to aim to do PPV and then also maybe to finish, finally, my Doctor Who quilt in the UFO months. I had grand plans for it, which is really what stopped me from finishing ... I may need to re-evaluate how important those grand plans are.

I'm still making pebbles. It's very zen!

I still haven't used the t.v. tray, but it's ready when I need it!

I'm really hoping the UFO event will help a lot of our community finish those languishing projects. The downside to having such an active community is having SO MANY project!

This year has been amazing for both your communities, and 2017 looks to be the same! I definitely plan to follow the Labyrinth QAL but may just wait it out to see my favorites to make myself a nice wall-hanging for the project room.

Still trying to decide if I'll continue PPV with the blocks I've already done from last time or start with all new fabric. Either way I'll be playing along. And UFO a long is perfect. Just what I need to hopefully finish my Who quilt. I don't want to start any more QAL until I get that done.

Swaps. I like both wunnerwoman's and suzy's suggestions. The only issue that might crop up with not knowing who will receive the swap is if they live somewhere really warm a wool hat or something similar might not be great to get. I also like the idea of swapping bags... Those could be knit or crocheted OR sewn. Or someone could opt to stencil/embellish a purchased bag. That's something that doesn't weigh a lot, so wouldn't be too expensive hopefully for even our international participants. Hmmm. We could also do a recycle-themed swap for earth day/April, still trying to work that one out. Maybe use items we already have to make something old new again? turn a sweater or tee shirt into a bag of some sort. I don't know yet. Still working out the details. I like the idea of having a specific size in mind though. And similar items, but just created differently using our favorite methods. Hopefully I'll get a brainwave.

I meant to mention that I have been seeking one of those trays for the same reason, only to have right net too me when piecing. My area is a bit tight to have the ironing board right there. So it's across the room forcing me to get up every time I sew a seam. Total time waster. I even thought about just using a 12-14" board so I could toss it in the car for a sew day or retreat to have right next to me. Need to hit the thrift stores again. Maybe after Thanksgiving people will donate them!

Believe it or not, the schedule I've worked out for next year should be less crazy for me. Let us hope that is how it works out!

PPV... I might have something set aside for you. Ahem.

Ha, you better be careful or you'll be running a swap! I do like the small item idea, and I agree that having a partner would help with knowing what to do. Food for thought!

I still haven't used my little ironing board, but it's ready when I need to!

Very late to the party here. Busy catching up on all the videos.
I like all the ideas mentioned in the thread. Or even round robin style like last year, with favorite things and all that and a surprise for the each person.
A one on one things, like Susie mentioned where you pair up is good.
I think if you do a group swap, for me personally would not work and O would sit out on those. As our postage over the mighty oceans, are crazy expensive at the moment.
Happy to send to 1 person at a time.
Sounds like fun.

We'll figure out something that will hopefully work for everyone. :)
