Here's the link to my flickr album for this project.

I am SO relieved this thing is finised, and Phebe loves it! Now to see if I can finish her Legend of Zelda throw pillows by the weekend... Because she's a lady with many interests. ;)

Color me IMPRESSED! WOW!!!!! The quilting is fantastic and really enhances the quilt. Perfect! Miss Phebe is one lucky girl.

I'm so glad you had a good time with it.

As for Phebe being a lady with many interests - the more interests, the more interesting!

Congratulations on a job extremely well done! APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!

Aw, thanks! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I just took it one block and row at a time. Once I got going it was fun and not so daunting. Don't be afraid to fmq your PoD, I am so glad I took the plunge!

Well, I am totally in love!

I want to start quilting mine from 2011 now, but need to finish her pillows and then start Ken's quilt. So maybe after that. Also I kind of want to put together a new costume for Halloween this year, so ALL THE THINGS!

I'm in love with your quilt! Outstanding job on the FMQ!

Thank you so much! Seeing some of your other folks finish yours really inspired me. I didn't know I had that FMQ in me. But I'm ready to do another one now...

(This is probably going to be huge, but appropriate, so...)

Awesome work! I really like how things look dimensional, and the back looks very, well, magical. :) It's like a double-sided quilt.

I love the back! I know a lot of people use invisible thread, but I love seeing the thread on there, it's like the strokes of a paintbrush. It makes me so happy to have it finished! No I only need to panic about everything else we still need to get done before we load the car to drive her down Sunday morning.

I can't even tell you how much I love what you did. The quilting is freaking phenomenal. I know how damn hard you worked on this and I just want to glomp you a million times! There's a wee bit of extra love from me knowing Miss P will be wrapped in it. ♥

It's Hogwarts, who cares if they are a bit different. It's unique and wonderful!

Is that the same purple sparkly fabric that I used on Steph's quilt? If it is, how did I miss that? It's so good for castle!!

Almost every needle I've broken fmqing was from pulling the fabric when the needle was down. It's so easy to do by accident.

The back of this quilt. THE BACK OF THIS QUILT. YES, YES, YES. You already know that I love the label.

When I took an FMQ class years ago, the instructor suggested that if we were feeling nervous to have a glass of wine before starting. It totally works. Ehem.

I also meant to tell you that when I received your package the other day, Elena told me "you have a package from Auntie Jewells!" :D

Re: ♥♥♥
I kept changing how I wanted to quilt it throughout. The last thing I quilted was the sky, and it went so fast, I want to do an entire quilt in that same "pattern" of winging it. The loopy meander is so forgiving when you end up not where you were intending to go, lol.

It's a blue of the same fabric I think. IRL it's almost cobalt blue. SO MUCH BLUE on this quilt... All 4 color catchers match the castle color, lol.

Auntie Jewells! I haven't heard that in forever. *sniffs*

Re: ♥♥♥
My kids always call you Auntie Jewells. :)

ALL meander is super forgiving, especially when you can go big!

Love, love, love it. Can't say it enough!

All the BLUE!

What a great job, I am so amazed by your free motion it really looks great x

Thanks! I just took 1 block at a time and basically quilted each a little differently based on the block itself. There are things I will do differently when I quilt my PoD, I definitely learned a lot quilting this one.

I have not been able to be on TTMT in forever, but wanted to take a minute to let you know that your quilt is FABULOUS! Great job quilting it. Isn't it nice when you get to stand back and say "I made that". Love it!

Oh thank you so much! Yes, it was such an amazing feeling seeing it done and knowing I did it. And we miss you! Will we see you when school starts or are you home schooling?
Aug. 17th, 2016 08:29 pm (UTC)
Not homeschooling, but just got a job for the first time in almost 12 years. Having difficulty getting into the "groove" of working and juggling kids/activities/house etc. We have been spoiled for a bit so it is an adjustment for us all. On a positive note, the job is at my kids' school and is a creative one, so I still get to create, just not for me :)

My mom worked at my elementary school my last few years there, and it was actually kind of nice. I think that's great.
