Hi Jewels! The birthday blocks look great. I don't blame you a bit for going with the paper piece option; I'd take that as well.

That HP fabric is terrific and I wouldn't put it on the back either. It will make nice pillows! I do like the star fabric and the lighter blue together. Speaking of the new back, sometimes the stars are just not in alignment for sewing and you just have to walk away for a little while.

Good luck with the fusible batting. I hope it works well for you. I can't floor baste either.

The extension table looks great! You are so darn crafty!!!

Hope you have a great week.

I am glad to be caught up with the birthday blocks, I will mail that next week so they arrive in Australia during her birthday month.

I think a throw pillow or two is definitely in order. I need to dig for some nice contrasting fabric for the border and back, maybe something red to pop from all the blue everywhere.

I am excited to try to fusible batting. My floors at home are hardwood (the house is nearly 80 years old) and that is NOT comfortable to crawl around on.

The extension table was SO easy to make. It really made things easier to sew when I was piecing the back, so I'm thinking it will really make a difference with the quilting, too.

You have a great week as well!

How did I not see this? o_O

The Depression Blocks came out perfect. Well done! You can't even see the HSTs in the video, but, hey, at least she'll be happy!

The custom extension table is really fantastic. It looks perfect! I'm so happy you found a solution that works for you.

The triangles are really only noticeable up close. But they are REALLY important. ;)

Table is working a treat!

The extension table looks fantastic, after all the hassle of getting the right size, the end result looks awesome. I might steal your idea, my Bernina stands on little legs, so is a lot higher than my desk. it makes it difficult for free motion quilting.
The pieced backing is going to look very nice, I love the blue fabric. Good idea about throw pillows for the HP panel.
The birthday blocks look great as well, pity she wont let you do it as a paper pieced block through. Seems like a bigger job to piece in triangles like that.

It would be a more precise and perfect block if I could use my own pp pattern, but it wouldn't show the triangles and apparently that matters to her so it's done and she's got all her happy triangles. :)

The table is working great. I highly recommend it as a cheap quick fix.

It's working great so far. I definitely think i will eventually get a frame like Jennifer, because any more than a half-hour to an hour of FMQ a day leaves my neck and shoulders really stiff/sore. it's still difficult stuffing a big quilt through that throat space. I think Ken's will be QAYG
