Woo for more organization! I keep saying this, but you're going to love having a design wall! It's so nice to be able to stick your blocks up and leave them there. If you haven't found a tablecloth yet, look at Easter clearance. Mine are both Christmas that I found for super cheap.

I'm so glad you love the I Want to Believe block as much I do. Yours looks fabulous! ♥

Just finished writing the Design Invitational post. There are some fun ones. :D

Looking forward to seeing all those tomorrow. And finally getting to show I should totally print another set and do an xfiles themed tee.

Funny, I have also been "cleaning" up and sorting and checking my ufo's again. It is a never ending story.
I love your poster block, looks fantastic.

Thanks! The pattern is awesome and the batiks I ordered were exactly what I was hoping for. I feel like they really look like trees and sky!

Need to get rid of STUFF. I need to just keep what I'll use for quilting and make myself get rid of the rest of my supplies. When will I ever need 10 pounds worth of buttons?!

You laugh, but it is literally 10 pounds! I will have to show off all my buttons next week. ;)

That block!!!! Isn't it wonderful?!

I want a design wall but haven't found a place to put it yet. My room is small and every wall has, like you said, a door, window or piece of furniture in it. I wish I could take out my computer desk and one of the wardrobes (yes, I have two). The large one holds my fabric and the smaller one holds paper and other computer supplies and misc. junk. I think that one wouldn't be too hard to clean out and get rid of.

Anyway, the fabric is taking over the house! I need to do some spring cleaning and you ladies are inspiring me.

It really feels nice to micromanage the space a bit. It started out as an EVERYTHING room. Now it's still got my husband's dresser and his clothes in the closet, but the rest is all mine, and I just don't do much other crafts anymore. I don't enjoy making clothes so there's no reason to keep all these darn trims and zippers and buttons and snaps and velcro and snaptape and yardage of pink and purple fabric from when I decorated my daughter's room. Like 15 years ago. Ack! Right now I am in a place where if I need a zipper I can go buy a zipper. Seriously. So I should pass them on to someone who will use them.

It was pretty easy to do and it is just so... perfect to represent the show. I love it!

I love the storage with your fabrics. I've got my scraps in one huge box! I sure your design wall is going to look great! I've got a design door! Loved how your poster turned out. Can't wait to see your finished quilt.

I bought a couple vinyl tablecloths yesterday so hopefully the design wall will be up and in action in time to film next week's video. :)

Yay for organisation! And yay for a design wall! I love having one up :D

That last block for the XFiles quilt is so fantastic... you picked some pretty great fabrics to make it too, it looks amazing!

When Jen told me she was going with batiks I started stalking them on Thousands of bolts to see if I liked any. I LOVED the purples so much but I was hoping and hoping the blue and green I picked for that last block would be even close to how they looked on the screen. When they arrived they were PERFECT. To me they really look like sky and trees.

The quilt block is great :)

I have been toying with the idea of a design wall but as my craft room is in the attic space all the room line is angled and any space high enough has storage there. perhaps when we sort through stuff properly i'll find space for one

You could always do a folding, portable one. I toyed with that idea first, but really wanted a permanent one and finally just decided the only way to do it was to make some hard decisions and get rid of furniture. I liked having both the singer and the kenmore out and ready to sew on at any given moment, but it really isn't necessary, and if I truly need to have them both out I still can but on the same table. What I need now is a small ironing area to keep near me when I'm piecing to protect my back from all the ups and downs to the ironing board. I have a plan for that but have been too sick to do anything about it.

I'm thinking of putting up some hooks over the sliding door that leads to the balcony next to my craft room and hanging one there that I could roll up. it would be better to have a permanent on. I am also thinking of getting a mini ironing board from IKEA next time we're there to put on my craft table. I currently just put a towel on the table as it's too much to lug the ironing board upstairs

You could also just make a small ironing board with a bit of leftover wood, some batting and some fabric and a staplegun or nails. I have a small tabletop one but it's still too big for the space I need it in, so I think I'm just going to make a little press board like what I just described.

I like the idea of a permanent design wall that you could roll up. That's a pretty cool idea.

The ironing boards at IKEA aren't very expensive and I have an IKEA 10 minutes away that we go to regularly. We get monthly vouchers from them and i'm waiting to buy one when we can use a voucher so that it's even cheaper

size is more of a concern for me than the money. I just don't have room for the tabletop one that I have. I could just buy one of those June tailor portable ones at Joann's that have a cutting mat on one side and ironing mat on the other, and just use the ironing side. That's probably what I'll end up going with. That way I'll also have something in case I go to a sew day somewhere.

Yes I understand that. the towel on my bench is suiting me for now and it doesn't take up much space when i'm not using it!
