Of course your brother is thrilled with his quilt. Who wouldn't be??? The birthday blocks turned out very nice. The slightly small one would probably make a nice label block.

Aw, thanks. I think he really didn't know how to react because I don't think he expected a quilt at all. He knew I was making something for him but probably though it was a pillowcase or something.

Hurrah for a quilt mailed, received and gushed over! *throws confetti*

The corner where you are sitting is awesome. I really like it as your backdrop. Would you believe I leaned to the right to try to see around you? That's what happens when you're up all night because of massive thunderstorms, I guess!

Woo, birthday blocks progress! The only suggestion I have on the traditional piecing is to try to make your seams a little bit scant and see if that helps with the size.

Darn glasses, messing up your life. :/

Yay, X-Files PP, I'm thrilled you love it so much. I really do, too!

That is my piecing space. :) My back has been killing me lately, so I raised the table (it has adjustable legs) and put a stool there (I brought several home from Mom's). It's been SO much better for my back I have to say. I don't have to get up and down from sitting low to go the the iron every few minutes. Back problem appears to be solved.

I have tried to do scant all the time and then my blocks came out too big. I think I'm going to cave and try the super-high to low shank adapter so I can use a patchwork foot, since they don't make one with a superhigh shank.

Well, huzzah for figuring out a better configuration for your back!

I put tape on my Juki because it didn't have the 1/4" marks like my BL did and I became dependent on them. I don't really need it now, but it's nice to have an extension of the 1/4" so I can see what the heck I'm doing.

Gotta love the "do you want (or is it would you like) a jelly baby" wallhanging. :D Reminds me I'm gonna have to go re-watch some of the old Tom Baker episodes.

Glad your brother loved his quilt! It was awesome and made just with him in mind, how could he not love it?!

Ugh, glasses that aren't right are the worst. I had some once that made everything look like I was seeing through a fishbowl (distorted around the edges). The optometrist said I'd "get used to it". Uh...what? Anyway, I hope you get them corrected.

It's been fun seeing different parts of everyone's crafting rooms/areas.

I had to move because a certain LARGE paperpieced block for xfiles that hasn't been released yet was the other direction and I didn't want to rearrange a bunch of stuff. That's my Kenmore sewing area where I do all my piecing. Usually I'm standing in front of my quilting table (with the Singer behind me). Can you say too much furniture for my own good? I don't have space to store even the fold up tables anymore so I have to use them in there for everything. REALLY need to get rid of more stuff and consolidate.

Edited to add that my Jelly Baby wall hanging was a prize years ago I won from our Amber.

I'm so loving your hair! Glad that your bro loved his quilt, you did an amazing job on it! 🎉 I have a hard time doing traditional quilting. The blocks turned out lovely. Sorry to hear about your glasses I know that must stink. Can't wait for the last paper pieced X Files block!

Thank you, my hair was still wet from the shower, so it hadn't had time to turn into a frizzy mess yet, thankfully. I'm about reay to chop it off again I think. I've been gradually going shorter over the past 6 months or so, just cutting it myself, but I think it's time to see a professional.

Finished my last embroidery block today and stenciled several alternate 6" blocks getting excited for the found 2 weeks!
