Okay, where to start.
I really like the HP pillowcase. I also really love the blocks so far for I Want to Believe.

The Alan Rickman tribute is beautiful and I have no doubt that the David Bowie one will be as well.

Looks like I'll be getting a new mug and/or t-shirt in the foreseeable future

Thank you, my dear. There sure has been a lot to think about just recently. Crafts here and there have really helped.

That is so perfect that you posted the links to the tutes again. I started working on the pillowcase for musical improv and couldn't remember what order things went in, lol.

Barter deals are a great thing. Use your connections and help each other out!

I think I might need a new tee or two for 2016. *toddles off to go shopping*

I seriously want to work on pillowcases, but there are sooo many other things I need to do!

I'm happy to be able to share the love with a local quilter. She does great work! :)

Yay, t-shirts!

2016 really is coming after favorite celebrities. I'm a fan of Celine Dion and her husband died...then her brother just a day or two later. The Alan Rickman tribute on FiS is touching.

Pillowcases, the potato chips of the fabric world. :) You can't make just one!

I may volunteer later to do a prize, I just have to figure out what to do for it.

I did hear about Celine Dion and her family. So freaking sad! The actor that played Grizzly Adams passed away, too. That was one of my favorites as a kid.

In the meantime, MAKE THINGS. It keeps me sane.

Lovely pillowcase!!

Love the ponytails!!!

Your stitch work is always amazing!!!

I will have to see about getting your local lady to take me on as a client in a few months. I've got 2 in right now at the quilter but no other finished tops laying around. Just blocks everywhere.

I hope January got it all out of its system now. Let's hope the rest of the year is done.

Thank you, m'dear!!

My local lady is pretty spiffy. It's nice to be able to support another Linus volunteer. :)

Seriously, January, WHAT IS YOUR DEAL?!

The new HP pillowcase looks very nice... flannel is great, isn't it?

The new stitch blocks look really great. That second one especially pretty appropriate, isn't it?

I don't work with flannel much anymore, but it is lovely and soft!

The second stitch was more emotional to work on. I think the week had just sunk in so much more.

I am so glad you posted the links to the pillowcases, I need to make some pillowcases for birthdays coming up. "Must remember to save the links this time"

I love all the blocks so far for x-files, "want to start ... in a whiny voice"
Question, I can't find any "papery" stuff to use for the embroidery blocks, is there another method that I can use to transfer the picture onto the fabric? I have a red pencil I use to transfer onto light fabric, but it doesn't show up on the dark fabrics.

And your David Bowie embroidery looks great, I love the "kind of 3d effect" you have going.

I have to tell you, I like the idea of that hook thing on the door with the hangers for the quilt tops. That should be easy to make with wood and metal hooks. will be roping my dad in for that job. Just don't know where I would put that up in my sewing room though, will make a plan.

If you ever lose the pillowcase link, just search "pillowcase" on Sewhooked and they both come up. :)

Before I started using the dissovable topper, I was using Saral Paper. It's a temporary transfer paper. I'd pin the design on top of the fabric with the Saral underneath and then draw over the entire thing with a pen. Yellow and white both work really well on a dark background. If you have a shop that sells embroidery machine supplies, you might be able to find something similar to the Sulky Fabri-Solvy. That's the kind of shop where I first came across it.

The hook on the doors used to be where we'd hang the kids' coats and hats when they were little. When they outgrew it, I put it in my sewing space. It does work great!

I feel so out-of-the-loop lately on here, as well as every where else! Between the weather messing with my ability to record videos and just feeling totally drained from work and cold...ugh!! But I'm working on getting back on track. Hopefully a video, on time this week, providing mother nature is at all nice!
The loss of such fantastic people this month is ridiculous! I know I shouldn't say this but...there are others on the face of the earth who contribute so little to the enrichment of life..why not them?..and leave the good ones alone!!
I know..strike me down for saying it but there it is!
On other notes...I, unfortunately, am unable to take part in the fun activities on FIS as well as Sewhooked, thanks to a little furbaby who decided he wanted to see what a certain wire tasted like!
Oh well, it is what it is :(
I may be requiring some assistance on the making of corner stones to finish off my paper piecing vintage piece. But that won't be for sometime, as I have yet to figure out the fabric I'll be using.
Jan. 25th, 2016 04:16 pm (UTC)
Oh dear, poor furbaby!

I'm around when you get to the cornerstones and will do what I can to help. :)
Jan. 25th, 2016 04:22 pm (UTC)
The furbaby is fine..but I dare say the wire didn't fair so well!
It was the power chord for Satia's printer. It was unplugged at the time of the attack..so no harm came to the furry attacker..lol!
But it has left us unable to use the printer :(
Think I'm going to check into a different printer any way..that one didn't allow you to change anything (size, color, etc.).
