TTMT 12-14-16 Broken Promises

Last post I promised to video tape this week. Well, that isn't going to happen.

Remember my telling you that Tim had an upper respiratory virus?  Guess who has it now.  As a result I sound like a frog, and can't utter more than a few words without a coughing fit.  And I'm sure I look as bad as I feel and I don't want to subject you guys to that.

I haven't gotten a lot of Christmas making done - so far just two sweatshirts and two cosmetics bags.  I have two more cosmetics bags and four dopp kits (men's toiletry bags for those of you, like me a couple of weeks ago, who aren't familiar with that term) to go. If I have two good, healthy days before Christmas that shouldn't be a problem.  By the way, anybody have any suggestions for good-smelling men's toiletries I can put in the guys' dopp bags?  Tim's will have Old Spice because that's what he likes, but we aren't up-to-date on what guys like now.

As it is now, everyone will get a painting from Tim and at least one hand-made item from me.

In addition to Tim and I being sick, so is my new embroidery machine.  It is chewing up and breaking threads, getting jammed in the bobbin area, and breaking needles.  After cleaning out everything I can get to, I decided to send it off to be serviced.  Tim is taking it now (he's better just in time to take care of me).  Fortunately the shop is only a few miles from the house and they work on them in-house. If it is fixed in the next week, I may have time to monagram a couple of things.  If not, I'll start stockpiling for next Christmas.

So for now, I'll quit complaining and take my Niquil and grab a nap.  You guys stay safe, warm and well and have a great crafty week!

Nothing like sharing everything, is there? I hope you feel better very soon!

I really like Burt's Bees products. They are natural and smell nice. I'm super sensitive to smell and those are easy on the allergies, too.

I hope your embroidery machine is okay! I had some problems early on, but it turned out to be the thread. Fingers crossed you have it back soon.

Hope you get better soon, and you get your embroidery machine back quick.

Hop you are both... no all three of you are better soon!

When it comes to cosmetics for me or women, my favorites are unscented, because ALLERGIES. I even use unscented dryer sheets.

The shop said the machine would be there for 3-5 business days. I have a feeling that the problem stems from thread. It didn't start acting up until I used some Sulky thread. I have since found out that others have had a problem with it. We'll see in a few days.

Tim is much better and I'm a bit better myself.

Bert's Bees is perfect!

Never rains but it pours, does it? Hope you and Tim get well soon and your machine gets fixed up.

I wish I could give advice on men's toiletries but I'm no expert, or even amateur. I remember back in the day though Aramis drove me crazy. :) But I believe it's kind of expensive. The Burt's Bees suggestion does sound like a good idea.
