Amazing how a few colorful additions can make something really special.  Love the fleece blanket.

Thanks! The applique really does give it a fun factor that wasn't there before.

Congratulations on almost making your goal! I have a feeling that you will definitely get there.

Good thinking on adding the star and colorful edging. That's really nice!

Thanks! I just squeaked in at 12 last year I think. I'll have to go back and check. I know I can do it, I just have to spend some time finishing something.

I got the idea for the applique from another lady in my PL group who buys clothes and bibs from the baby section at the thrift store and takes off the adorable appliques and adds them to plain fleece, but I had to use something I had on hand and so the star worked!

Look at you, putting an applique on the fleece! Fancy that plain fleece up, girl!

Woo, PoD rows all stitched together! That is awesome to see.

It was so easy. I will definitely use that trick again to spice up something plain. I just had to concentrate when stitching around the edges. I think big circles like polka dots would be even easier since there would be no corners to go around.

I had wanted to get the rows sewn together too, but ended up taking a giant nap on Sunday, lol. Oh well. Maybe this weekend. It's looking more and more like a New Year's gift, lol.

We have a lady at Linus that will applique a dog or cat shape onto the bottom corner of plain fleece. She tends to use plaid or something similar and they come out so cute!

Oh, giant naps are the best!

Nice work on the fleece applique; and the yellow and navy border will give that gray such a nice pop of color!

Are you sure you haven't done 12 quilts yet? Seems to me like you've done a ton of quilts for Linus this year, and such a variety too.

Yeah, it's 9, the Teddy Bear Twinkle star quilt was my last donation, I checked the folder I have for my 2015 donations on Flickr. And sadly I've hit a few spots in the fleece blanket that have slowed me down. The blanket stitches came apart in a few places, so I've been repairing those spots as I get to them with black perle cotton before crocheting the yellow on in those areas, so I'm still not quite finished with the yellow border yet. It may be one of those meetings where I'm finishing the border and labeling AT the meeting instead of before, lol.

Thanks! Worked well considering it was an experiment. I'm in the process of adding the navy border now.
