TTMT # 7 (maybe)

I recorded in a different room and with my camera instead of my ipad so I hope that it is not as wobbly as it normally is. That being said, I did cut the top of my head off and it is a little dark, but I'll figure it out eventually :)

You shirt looks amazing. Too bad it's not comfortable. What kind of fabric paint did you use? Was it maybe just too many coats do you think?

Your lego pillowcases have held up terrifically. I am so glad to know they have made it through so many washes since some of the autographs on the get well quilt I made were using the crayola markers.

I love your idea for your next project. If the current finished size is pretty small, you could always enlare the pattner a little bit to make it big enough to be more comfortable piecing it.

Thanks! It is not the painted part that made it uncomfortable, but the arm holes :) They were a little big and my skin was rubbing against each other while I was running and youch did it hurt by the end.

I was really surprised that the crayola held up so well. The gray marker was an expensive fabric marker that cost twice as much as the crayola ones and bled and faded...who knew :)

Great idea about enlarging the pattern. I need to take a look at it and decide how big I could go. It just seems really daunting. I did a nativity paper piece for my mom last year and it was pretty complex, but if I just did a day at a time I didn't get overwhelmed and it worked out.

Just take it a little bit at a time and take your time and don't hurry and I'm sure you'll do just fine!

Thanks. I wore it yesterday and although it is not comfortable for running it was great for around the house.

Thanks. The pillowcases were a fun evening activity and the kids loved them.

I'm still brewing on the shuttle pattern. My husband's birthday is in August, so I'm thinking about making it for him for that. ponders...

Wow, I never would have thought Crayola markers would hold up so well. You learn something new every day. :) I'll have to give them a try.

I love the apron - whoever gets it will enjoy it.

That space shuttle pattern looks great, and since your husband works for NASA how appropriate is that?!

Who knew with the crayola markers ??? I figured that the pillow cases would be shot in a month or so and have been pleasantly surprised.

Thanks. I love how the apron turned out too. Don't know what I'll do with it, but at it is always nice to have a back up gift.

I mentioned to hardhatcat that his birthday is in August, so I might start on it and see how it goes...if I miss his birthday I could always do Christmas :)

Hehe love your twirly into!

GO YOU on your first 1/2!! Good luck! Bummer about the shirt not working for the run, but great that you can wear it any other time! Good tip about the cheap paint box. :D

Love love love your apron! I've never made a dresden, they look so difficult. You did a great job!

Stone wall POD fabric = perfect!

Those pillowcases rock! Good to know the Crayola fabric markers hold up so well. :)

OMG. We are a family of space geeks and I just gasped when you said your hubs works at NASA. SO. FREAKING. COOL. My husband's dream job is to work for NASA! Anyway... *calming down* the space quilt pattern looks amazing. You can do it!

Ha...I'm a twirly kind of girl :) I'm still trying to figure out the best way to video so I'm a little scattered until I get it down.

Thanks! It will probably be my first and last half. It is fun, but such a huge time suck. I feel like all I do is run or wash smelling running clothes (ick).

I'm happy with how the apron turned out too. Dresdens are not difficult at all, but seem to need a ton of ironing. The tutorial I found you can cut three blades out of one charm so it goes pretty fast. I don't know why, but I have been on an apron kick lately. Erin showed a mixer pattern a few weeks ago and my first thought was "that would make an awesome apron".

Ha Ha...we are space geeks too! His job is pretty cool, sometimes we forget since half of the town here works for NASA in some form. I'm thinking about doing it for him for his birthday, but can't decide if I want to commit.

awesome paint job! too bad about not being good for running! I hope your run goes great!!! (i only run for 2 reasons: 1 -- I done pissed someone off, so I gotta get away before they kill me.... and 2 -- someone done pissed me off and I gotta catch em and kill em...) ;)

The PoD fabric is AWESOME!!! Go! Do!!

The pillowcases look GREAT! *writes down crayola fabric markers*

Give the space quilt a try. maybe make yourself a timeline? Like next week you gather all the fabric, then the following day you cut all the fabric pieces.... then depending on how complicated the pieces are, maybe sew 10 seams a day until done? Good luck and SHOW US!!!! How cool that your hubby works for NASA!

HeHeHe...your running motto cracked me up!

Thanks! I wasn't sure if anyone would want to see what is basically "coloring", but I really was shocked at how well they have done. They are also a quick and fun project.

I *think* I am going to give it a try. I need to go through my stash and see what I have and then hit the store (great excuse to go fabric shopping).

have a good week!

The lego pillowcases are awesome! I'm jealous of your kids. ;)

Thanks. I love how it turned out too. I'm a huge firefly geek so I'm sure it will get lots of use.

Thanks. I love how the apron turned out too. I've been on an apron kick lately for some reason.

The pillow cases were fun and easy...the kids are trying to decide what they want next :)

Oh good luck with your half-marathon! Great tee! Maybe you can wear it after.

The Dresden apron is super cute! I love the way you placed them.

Eee, can't wait to see your Project of Doom come together!

The pillowcases are fantastic, so very clever! Looking forward to what you share next!

The quilt you showed is kind of amazing. I haven't seen anything quite like it before.

Thanks! I like how the shirt turned out. I have another firefly one that I want to do, so maybe it will work out for a running one, if not...I still have a cute shirt :)

I kept placing the dresdens all around and finally found a way I liked. I don't know why, but I'm on a huge apron kick now.

I think I am going to try the shuttle quilt. I need to go fabric shopping for it, and it will probably take me forever to do it, but it should be fun!

LOVE the Firefly shirt, shame it didn't work out for what you wanted, because it's awesome.

The apron is really pretty too... the dresdens are great.

Also love the lego Star Wars... your kids must have loved them.

The Space Shuttle quilt would be awesome. You should really take it on! Just do a little at a time and it'll come together just fine.

Also, I was going to suggest for recording -- try standing with the light facing you (behind the camera) instead of the other way around. It'll get you out of the shadows and help you show things off. (Of course, if it's overlit like mine often are, anything white you hold up with turn into a glaring blob until the camera can adjust itself to the excess light :D)
