That is too funny about you star mishap! As you were talking I was thinking it looked off, but of course it didn't occur to me it was a mistake and then just as I was trying to see the pattern, you realized the mistake. :)

Your Christmas gifts are so thoughtful. You really are a crafty wonder. </p>

I too am loving the PPV FB group - lots of nice ppl there. Thank you again for posting the you-know-what. ;)

How fun to have a ttmt drawing and it's very sweet of Amber to make a prize for it. What a lucky winner!

I have a similar 2014 goal - focus on two quilts: PPV and my HP quilt. Get. Er. DONE.

I like the intro and music, but I understand it's not really *needed*. It's fun though!

The really sad part is the quilt has been on my design wall for DAYS and that's the first time I noticed. Oops!

I'm still up in the air about the intro. I usually create a new one at the beginning of the year...we shall see!

Ohhhh....I was watching the progress of the star quilt on Flickr, and thought maybe you had changed your mind by the time you stitched it all together. Like a forward-facing arrow or...something. It's always fun to catch unexpected moments on TTMT, like when I was looking at the wrong side of the fabric and realised how bright the fuchsia snakeskin was on the right side. :)

Amber's thread holder is beautiful. I need to do a UFO video...I have exactly zero crafts going at the moment (besides a certain fandom embroidery sample).

I like the intro, too...but the video is just as good without! As you say, it might make it less intimidating for those thinking about posting.

Love that rice-filled warmer. How did your dad like it?

Ahaha, I love that you thought my oops was on purpose! I'm guessing that's why no one mentioned it in all my photo updates. XD

Dad loved the warmer. He has bursitis in his shoulder and he said the heat and weight really help. :)

As I was watching your progress on that quilt on Instagram I wondered if you just made a last minute change at the end. Glad to know I'm not the only one that makes those types of mistakes though. ;-)

I've made those rice warmers before and they really are great! A friend has a disabled brother who uses them not only as a heating pad for him, but a weight to help him feel grounded and still at school. Works like a charm! Just a suggestion though, place a cup of water in with it while you heat it. It helps get rid of the chance of fire, and it also helps with the "rice" smell.

You're the second person that wondered if my mistake was on purpose. I love you guys for thinking there was a reason! :D

Thanks for the water tip! I have enough rice to make another. It was intended for a gift and then I remembered that the person I was planning to make it for doesn't have a microwave, so I scrapped that idea!

I just noticed the mistake right about the same time you did, it looked strange but I really couldn't figure out why :D

I can't decide about the intro -- I don't think it *needs* to be there, but it's always nice to have an intro, so I don't know. I wish I could add them to mine again, but... well, maybe I should try editing videos again. My bro-in-law changed some things on my laptop because it wasn't playing blu-rays either, even though it has a bluray player, so I'm wondering if maybe whatever he changed might also have changed some of the other things that were giving me a/v type issues. I kind of hate using the phone for making videos - it's frustrating!

That shoulder warmer looks really neat -- it looks quite heavy too, but I think that's a nice thing on sore muscles anyway. I was going to mention the water thing (which I found out from Jordan, who made me a smaller lavender scented rice warmer), but I see that Liza mentioned the same thing!

Oh man, it kind of kills me to sit out of the PPV, but I'm trying so hard not to start new things. (Which, there's also a beginners FMQ thing run by Leah Day I'd like to be in on and kept contemplating doing in combination with PPV - no reason not to translate her quilting patterns/QAYG idea to your blocks - and some of the blogs I read are running quiltalongs I want to do, and yeah. Trying SO HARD to stay away.)(I wonder how long I'll last on the not starting big things.)

The thread catcher looks fantastic. I have one (very different, but similar idea) which is mostly great (I use the bin all the time), but doesn't have enough weight on the pincushion part to hold up the trash bag if there's actually stuff in it. It was from a swap group on Flickr and it's partly filled with what feels like those glass pebbles people put in the bottom of clear vases. Maybe I should try to take it apart and put something heavier (or just MORE of something heavy) into the pincushion, since it would be great if I could get the garbage bin off my table. (Holy jibbering on about nothing.)

Your opinion about the intro has pretty much been the consensus. Thanks for giving me your two cents! There's a Google online video editor that I want to try. Maybe next week, if I have time to play around with it.

The shoulder warmer had 5 pounds of white rice in it. Quite heavy, but really nice, too!

PPV will still be around whenever you get to it! I've had several people tell me they want to sign up when most or all of the patterns are posted so they don't have to wait!

You know, it's weird, but I kept looking at that quilt top thinking, " I don't know, I just don't see how those blocks work together well, but maybe it's me", lol. Now that you posted the redone version of it on facebook it looks great, so that was clearly what was bothering me, I just didn't realize what it was that was bugging me.

I can't wash my fabric for Greg's Quilt in the morning because Ken has to fix the water heater. Ack, during a cold snap no less! He's at Lowe's getting what he needs right now. So it looks like I'll be tackling more of my 6" version of PPV in the morning before work instead.

And yay, first month of the year, first challenge!

That quilt, sheesh! I felt so stupid when I saw it in the viewfinder. DUH! It's a top now, but I don't have backing, so I need to grab that at next Linus.

Now, to pull my UFOs...STILL haven't done that, though I did score 2 1/2 gallon bags at Target this week. <3 those!
