The appliques are really coming along. Maybe you can think of something not a quilt that you could make. Or do a smaller wall-hanging. You could even do a piece of fabric there for everyone to sign and then take it home and add a border and make it a quilt later to send to them.

A couple of times when I was working on knitting a baby gift or sewing it, and I didn't have it in time for the shower, I gave them a card with a little swatch of yarn or fabric to tease, and said their handmade gift was "coming soon" or still "under construction". I wish I had done that with my niece's quilt for her wedding, maybe then I might have actually finished it.

I love the fabric for your gown, and I like the long-sleeves. I totally think you can recon that hat. you could remove the ribbon and make a new one out of matching ribbon or your leftover dress fabric, and handsew it to the cut edge of the straw to keep it from raveling, and then you could even fix it in a way that it would tie under your chin if you wanted.

Wow! I'm impressed with how quickly you are doing the appliqué.

I love the fabric for your dress. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

The applique is well done, it is not the easiest thing to do!

I thought I'd commented on this post last week! Oops.

Well, anyway, the fabric looks really nice for your costume! I'm excited to see how things go with this costume. .

No thoughts on the bonnet, but best of luck figuring it out!
