The towels worked out great. I actually threw those together yesterday morning at the last second. I literally just winged them and sewed them less than an hour before heading to my sister's place. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. ;)

The pot holders. Oy. Definitely need to make some more for myself or something to practice binding more.

The first time I ever did binding myself was on pot-holders for my mom, and they were gorgeous, except for the binding, which was horrible. I've learned to do it right since, though, and now I kind of enjoy the process.

This is the tutorial I learned from, though I sew mine on with a ever so slightly less than 3/8" seam, and in step 7, she says to stop 1/4" from the edge, but you should stop 3/8" from the edge. And I don't sew up into the corner because I don't think it really helps anything.

My mistake on these was the binding was way too wide for the project, and I was too lazy to make my own. So yeah, my own fault there. I've finally sort of gotten the whole mitered corner thing now, though. And how to attach the hanging loop without it looking crappy, so yeah, progress! And thanks for that link. I always have crappy looking final joins where the two ends meet, this looks like ti would totally solve that problem!

Sometimes it pays to be a craft supply hoarder. I have a drawer full of sections of bias binding and ribbon. I can barely get the drawer open and shut, and REALLY need to clean it out and organize, but who has time for that when there are so many more fun things to do in my project room?
