Yay new house! My boss's advice on new houses: Buy the toilet plunger now; don't wait till you need it. (I don't even know, he's just got a thing about toilet plungers. He's been known to give them as house warming gifts.)

The afghan's looking great! The thing that pulled me away from crochet before I ever got in too deep was realizing just how much yarn it takes to make much of anything. Even though it's probably not, it just felt so much more expensive than quilting.

So my favourite place in my house.. well, I'm very fond of my sewing room, but my favourite thing is this little ledge space that's carved out of the corner between the dining room and the stairs, which the previous owners painted a dark brown (while the rest of the walls are a kind of creamy cafe au lait colour) and when we moved in here, I propped a picture of mine into it, which is a copy of a painting by August Rodin (this one) and we just sort of never moved it and I don't know, it makes me happy whenever I walk by it.

Anyway, enjoy your half days!

HOw exciting, your very own place! *crosses fingers*

I believe you said you are doing this blanket in double crochet? That is a yarn eater, for sure. Three skeins probably would have been enough if you had made it a little les wide to start. As it is, you maybe need another half-skein or more to get a good length for your width. But it needn't be the same yarn, you could pick one of the colors, like the cream, and do the last section of that, and when you still have at least a quarter skein left continue around the multicolor to border it and give it a 'finished" look.

Favorite room in my house? Project room. All my best toys are in there, and the heater vent in that room still works really well, unlike other parts of the house. Favorite spot? Right now it's my spot on the living room couch with my giant fleece blanket over me.

Oooooh, that's going to be an adorable apron. I love your ideas for the ties and pocket. Cute!

And the afghan is looking great! The yarn is making a pretty pattern in the double crochet.

I am NOT entering your SSFD. Someone else needs a shot at your crafty magnificence. Teddy!Snape sits proudly next to my sewing machine and makes me grin giddily every time I see him. And he gets regularly scheduled hugs. :)
